Graphic Novel Book Club
Biweekly Saturdays, 10am-11am
Reading & Discussion group for graphic novels. Run by members who pick the books. (Hello Comics facilitates a meeting space and offers a discount on club books to members, but does not pick the books.) Club is intended for adults - if you have a kid interested in joining, we’re putting together a kids group in 2025.

SuperHero Storytime @ JMRL
2pm Every 4th Sunday at the Jefferson Madison Regional Library - Central Library on Market Street. Join Hello Comics in reading some children’s superhero stories & classic favorites.
(Be sure to check out JMRL’s amazing Graphic Novel Squad too! Their monthly club is great for older kids and young adults. )

How many free comics can I get? 5 free comics per person +5 BONUS free comics if you bring a donation for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Canned food is good. Cash and checks made out to BRAFB are extra appreciated. (Did you know that the BRAFB can provide 4 meals to local families for every $1 donated!?)
Will there be comics for kids and adults? Yes! And Teens too! There’s a color coding system for age ratings that we’re happy to help with.
Can I wear a costume? COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED! It’s one of our favorite things about FCBD. Let your fandom flag fly!
Will there be a Tent Sale this year? YES!
Any Specials inside the store? Yes! Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3th are DOUBLE POINTS DAYS! Earn 2x reward points on your purchases!
Will there be Online Sales or discounts on the website? No. We are expecting record in-person turnout this year and will not be able to have an online sale on our website.
Can I bring some comics/graphic novels to trade in for cash or credit? Yes, we are accepting trade-ins, but there will be an extended turnaround time for the week before and after Free Comic Book Day.
Do you provide free comics to classrooms? YES! Local teachers in Charlottesville or local areas (Albemarle, Crozet, etc) can sign up their classrooms on our website - we’re taking applications for 2026 right now: more info on Comics in the Classroom 2026
