Selling Your Comics & Collectibles

• You must be the legal owner of any items you bring in.

• All items must be seen in person by a Hello Comics staff member. We cannot give offers or estimates by phone, email, or photos, and we cannot appraise items from emailed lists.

• Paperwork is required — we’ll provide a form for you to fill out and sign before evaluation.

• If we have time and availability, we may evaluate your items immediately. Otherwise, we’ll get back to you with an offer within 1–3 days.

• Offers: You can choose cash or store credit. Store credit is typically 50% higher than the cash offer.

• Condition matters: We prefer statues and toys in original packaging, and comics should be in readable condition.

• Offers are valid for 30 days.

• Good Faith Contact: We will make every reasonable effort to contact you by phone or email before treating items as abandoned — we do not want to keep collections unintentionally.

• Pick-up: If you do not accept an offer, items must be picked up within 30 days or they will be considered abandoned.

Appraisal: (For insurance/tax purposes) We do not offer appraisal services currently in 2024.

Hello Comics Collection Purchase Disclaimer (Virginia)

By offering items for evaluation and possible purchase, the seller ("Seller") agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Ownership – The Seller affirms and guarantees that they are the lawful owner of all comic books, collectibles, and related items ("Items") presented to Hello Comics and that the Items are free of liens, claims, or disputes. Hello Comics reserves the right to refuse evaluation or purchase of any Items.

2. In-Person Evaluation Required – All Items must be physically presented for evaluation by a Hello Comics staff member. No offers, estimates, or purchase values will be provided by phone, email, or photographs alone.

3. Evaluation Authorization – The Seller must complete and sign required paperwork granting Hello Comics permission to inspect and evaluate the Items for the purpose of making a purchase offer.

4. House Calls – If a Hello Comics staff member conducts a house call to evaluate Items:

   • Any purchase offer made is valid for 30 calendar days from the date the offer is issued.

   • Items evaluated during a house call will be sealed by Hello Comics with tamperproof tape.

   • For the offer to remain valid, the tamperproof seal must remain intact and unaltered when the Items are presented to Hello Comics for final sale.

   • If the seal is broken or tampered with, Hello Comics reserves the right to rescind or revise the offer.

5. Offer Validity – Any purchase offer made by Hello Comics (whether in-store or via house call) is valid for 30 calendar days from the date the offer is issued.

6. Acceptance or Denial –

   • If the Seller accepts the offer within 30 days, the agreed-upon payment will be made, and Hello Comics will retain the Items.

   • If the Seller denies or does not respond to the offer within 30 days, the Seller must retrieve their Items no later than the 30th day after the offer date.

7. Abandoned Items – Hello Comics staff will make every reasonable effort to contact the seller by phone and email before treating items as abandoned. Any Items not retrieved within the 30-day period will be considered abandoned property. Hello Comics reserves the right to dispose of, retain, or resell such Items at its sole discretion, without further obligation to the Seller.

8. Governing Law – These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

By signing the evaluation paperwork, the Seller acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this disclaimer.
